Hey? Yeah, let's get right to the rundown. First student loan forgiveness applications. They're going out by mid october but millions of you are upset. You're saying already paid off my student loans. What about me now the new information on how you can get those recent payments refunded and we're going back years. Then instagram is testing out two new features that will help you control more of what you're seeing on the app. And finally, Labor Day deals. They're happening right now ahead of Labor Day. We've got the details on what's on sale and *** major key cash you can save. But first student loan payments have been put on pause for *** couple of years now because of covid. But millions of you kept paying to get your debt down without having to pay any interest and you ended up paying off those loans. Great job. But now with the new loan forgiveness plan, you're upset. What about me? But guess what? I was chatting with financial expert Pete dunne and he says you can get relief to. Anything you've paid since March 13th of 2020 Is likely to be refunded to you if you apply for that. So you're saying even if I don't owe the debt right now, if I have just paid it off and I just missed it. March 13 of 2020. Any payment you've made between now and then is theoretically available for *** refund. If you otherwise qualified for forgiveness. *** lot of will be coming out soon on how to get the forgiveness and how to get that refund. We're gonna be following it. You know, we will and we'll keep you posted right here. Every step of the way. Next up, instagram is hearing the backlash. We've been frustrated many of you over the app, showing more suggested posts *** little like Tiktok rather than content from our own friends and family. Now, instagram is testing out *** few things that could help with that. One of the features lets you mark multiple posts on the explore page with *** not interested option. The app will then hide those posts and won't give you similar content. Instagram will also start testing the ability for you to filter out posts based on certain words, certain phrases or even emojis that could be in the caption of the hashtag. Maybe you're just really sick of that emoji. So if you don't want to see an overload of weddings or sports or food, what monster doesn't want to see more food but whatever, let's say, you don't like it. You can filter them out. You'll still get some suggested post. Just less of what you don't want to see. The testing starts up now. Could be coming to your phone soon. Finally start your labor day shopping early. Let me run you through some of the sales that we just found happening right now. Macy's Macy's right here holding *** sale on furniture up to 65% off and at both Lowe's and Home Depot. You can get 30% off select major appliances, like dishwashers and refrigerators. So here are some of the things you should be looking to buy at those stores and other stores that are usually on sale around this time, you can get the best prices. Home appliances, furniture, especially outdoor furniture. Of course the summer's almost over clothes and shoes too. And *** lot of sales go on through next week or longer. During the pandemic, student loan payments were put on pause but that didn’t stop people from paying theirs to pay down debt and future interest. If you paid off your student loans during this time, you could be getting that money refunded. Financial expert Peter Dunn is the CEO of Your Money Line and the host of the Pete the Planner Show.
