Rose McGowan hits back after arrest warrant is issued: 'Are they they trying to silence me?'
A February arrest warrant obtained for Rose McGowan recently came to light following a tweet from the actress on Monday.
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department obtained the felony warrant on Feb. 1 following an investigation into personal items, allegedly belonging to McGowan, that were left behind on a United flight that arrived at Washington Dulles International Airport on Jan. 20. Police say the belongings tested positive for narcotics.
The 44-year-old McGowan has been one of the leading voices against sexual harassment in Hollywood, and tweeted earlier this month that she was raped by a man with the initials “HW.” The Hollywood Reporter said McGowan confirmed she was referring to disgraced media mogul Harvey Weinstein.
She claims that officials are "trying to silence" her and are using the arrest warrant to do so. Police say they’ve attempted to contact McGowan multiple times so she can appear in a Loudoun County, Virginia, court to answer the charge.
Neither McGowan nor her representatives have said when the actress became aware of the warrant.
