Musk and Rama Swami are meeting with GOP lawmakers in both chambers that says they promised to make sweeping changes to government that includes reducing spending and regulations. House Speaker Mike Johnson said he looks forward to hosting them at the Capitol. He said they'll talk about major reform ideas with the goals of cutting costs and bringing back limited government. This is all tied to what president elect Trump calls the department of Government Efficiency and outside advisory committee. He tapped Musk and Ramaswamy to lead congressman Steve Womack tells us while he embraces the concept, they need to be careful with the expectations. We're always looking for ways that we can save the government money but that this is going to be *** challenge for us to find the kind of savings that's going to result in the aggregate amounts that we're talking about. "We're always looking for ways that we can save the government money, but this is going to be a challenge for us to find the kind of savings that's going to result in the aggregate amounts that we're talking about - the better part of $2 trillion," Womack said.Critics, however, worry that such cutbacks could negatively impact essential services.
