As the world patiently awaits the arrival of another royal baby, Prince Louis is getting his own celebratory moment in the spotlight. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared three adorable new photos of the young royal in honor of his 1st birthday on Tuesday. Taken earlier this month by Duchess Kate, the images show the beaming baby posing in the grounds of the Cambridges' Anmer Hall home in Norfolk, where the family have been based for Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s 3-week school break. Louis looks angelic — and the spitting image of Prince William’s infant years — as he sits patiently (albeit covered in grass) in the garden for his first-ever birthday portraits.Dressed in a denim blue Thomas Brown “Little Puppy” knitted sweater, the birthday boy gave mom Kate a peek at his blonde comb-over and two bottom teeth as she snapped photos on her professional Canon DSLR camera. The fifth-in-line to the throne also appears to have inherited a pair of navy Early Days shoes from his brother or sister, who both wore the same color of Italian leather T-bar pram shoes during their baby years.“It’s been an incredibly happy time for the Cambridges,” a Kensington Palace aide tells BAZAAR.com of their Easter holiday break. The happy family are believed to have celebrated Louis’ birthday a day early on April 22, as Prince William is traveling on Tuesday to New Zealand for a two-day visit to pay tribute to those affected by March’s Christchurch terrorist attack. The portraits of Louis are not the first time Kate has shown off her photography skills, as she's shared a number of family milestones with the world over the years.
