Massachusetts bride, groom scramble to find new wedding venue amid Hurricane Lee
BRIDE RITA CLARKE’S PLAN TO SAY I DO ON THIS MANOMET BLUFFS BEACH TURNED INTO AN I DON’T I DIDN’T WANT ANYBODY TO FEEL UNSAFE COMING TO THE PARTY. AS LEE BARRELS NORTH, COUPLE RITA AND CRAIG SCRAMBLE TO FIND AN INDOOR VENUE TO TWO DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING. I WAS TRYING TO WORK DURING MY WORKDAY AND I WAS WORKING ON THIS AND IT WAS JUST CHAOS. AND IN ABOUT TO EVERYTHING KIND OF CAME TOGETHER. MANY PEOPLE IN PLYMOUTH SHIFTING THEIR PLANS TO PREPARE FOR LEE’S POTENTIAL IMPACT. A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, SOME GUY LOST HIS BOAT UP ON THE JETTY. BIG ONE. SO DON’T WANT TO BE THAT GUY. NOPE. ALL EVENING, PEOPLE WATCHED AS BOAT OWNERS PULLED THEIR PRIZED POSSESSIONS OUT OF THE WATER, LEAVING THEM THERE, THEY SAY IS A BAD IDEA. I THINK IT’S GOOD BECAUSE YOU JUST NEVER KNOW. YOU DON’T KNOW. IT COULD YOU KNOW, TAKE A TURN THIS WAY AS LEE THREATENS COASTAL AREAS WITH POWERFUL WINDS AND STORM SURGE FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY, MARINA WORKERS ARE STAYING POSITIVE. WINDS WILL BE X, Y, Z. BUT I THINK PEOPLE ARE PREPARED FOR THE MOST PART, INCLUDING RITA, WHO IS READY TO SAY, I DO. DESPITE THE HICCUP, LEE HAS CAUSED EVERYBODY WE LOVE. LIKE ALL OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS IN ONE PLACE IS JUST IT’S SUCH A SPECIAL MOMENT. AND RITA MADE THE CALL TO CHANGE VENUES YESTERDAY AND SAYS SHE FEELS SO LUCKY THAT SHE FOUND A PLACE, A NEW PLACE IN SUCH SHORT NOTICE AND I
