Company says it's not changing its written policy
LuLaRoe retailers wanting to cancel their business will no longer get a 100 percent reimbursement on returns, according to an online petition.
Consultants for the clothing retailer who decide to stop selling the retailer’s leggings and other fashion will only be reimbursed 90 percent, rather than 100 percent, of the cost of a returned item, . They’ll also have to pay for shipping and must have returns in the original packaging they were received in, the petition said.
According to the company, it has more than 80,000 independent retailers who sell the merchandise in-person and online across the U.S.
A statement from the company says it's not changing its written policy but only ending a temporary waiver to retailers leaving the business since April.
The change comes as the company seeks to ensure that returns are in re-saleable condition, the company says.
"In recent months, LuLaRoe has seen rampant abuse of the policy, with (retailers) returning product in extremely poor condition," a statement from the company said.
The petition requests that people who are in the current cancellation process have previous rules remain. The company says that's happening.
Meanwhile, customers may be unaffected. The company’s website currently says a full refund, credit or exchange can be done within 30 days. There’s also a 90-day provision for credit and exchanges.
