A North Carolina nurse hoping to do something special for little ones who have come a long way has tapped into something adorable and inspiring.
Melissa Jordan, who works at The Birthplace at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, is leading an effort to host "graduation ceremonies" for prematurely born babies that are ready to leave the neonatal intensive care unit, according to
Complete with tiny caps and tassels, each infant posed for a local photographer from as their families celebrated the milestone moment.
"To stay in here all the time is stressful for families. Some days are happy, some days are sad, it’s pretty much an emotional roller coaster," Jordan said.
Jordan said parents beam as they watch their babies graduate.
