'The Nightmare Before Christmas' will get a sequel next year

Next year will mark the 25th anniversary of the Tim Burton/Henry Selick classic The Nightmare Before Christmas.
You might expect the milestone to be marked in some way – after all, the 1993 film has become a cult classic over the years – and you'd be right.
But it's not necessarily what you might expect. The Nightmare Before Christmas will be getting a sequel... in comic book form.
According to , come Spring 2018, fans of the movie can take in the all-new adventures of Jack Skellington's dog Zero in The Nightmare Before Christmas: Zero's Journey.
It will be written by DJ Milky with art from Studio DICE and published by TokyoPop, which previously created a comic book version of the original movie and has also produced versions of Disney classics such as Beauty and the Beast.
Okay, so it's not a full-length feature sequel, but hey, never say never.
Tim Burton is currently hard at work on the , the latest in a long (long) line of Disney re-imaginings.
The director's version of the 1941 classic stars Michael Keaton, Eva Green, Danny DeVito and Colin Farrell.
Dumbo won't be released until March 2019, so we're guessing that Tim has enough on his plate without a full-on Nightmare Before Christmas sequel. Plus, Disney fans can get their follow-up fix with two sequels due to be released next year: The Incredibles 2 and Wreck-It Ralph 2.
