We're just days away now.The 2025 NCAA Tournament bracket will be revealed Sunday, and at least two in-state teams will be included.Drake already had a serious case for at-large consideration, and the Bulldogs removed any doubt by notching three wins in St. Louis to clinch the Missouri Valley Conference's automatic bid.Video above: Drake wins third straight MVC tournament championshipIowa State is always a threat to make a run in the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City, but T.J. Otzelberger's team is safely in the field regardless of this week's results. Here's what both teams will be monitoring between now and Selection Sunday.Iowa State NCAA Tournament resumeRecord: 23-8 (13-7 in Big 12 play)NET: 9 (last week: 9)WAB: 14 (last week: 12)KenPom: 10 (last week: 11)(These are just some of the factors the committee considers when making the NCAA Tournament bracket. You can find Iowa State's updated team sheet here.)Another 1-1 week — the third in a row — didn't help or hurt the Cyclones much. The win Saturday at Kansas State is a Quadrant 1 win by the slimmest of margins. Road wins at teams in the top 75 of the NET are considered Quad 1 wins, and Kansas State comes in at exactly No. 75 as of Tuesday morning. The Cyclones now sit on the No. 3 seed line according to most prognosticators. Bracket Matrix, which tracks more than 100 projections, gives Iowa State an average seed of 3.11. In 108 brackets updated within the last three days, 94 list Iowa State as a No. 3 seed.Iowa State's resume is solidified at this point. The Cyclones boast 14 wins over the top two quadrants, including a 7-6 record over Quad 1 opponents.Bracket projections for Iowa State; will the Cyclones play in Milwaukee?CBS bracketology: No. 3 seed (South region; Milwaukee)ESPN bracketology: No. 3 seed (East region; Milwaukee)The Athletic: No. 3 seed (West region; Milwaukee)All three say the same thing about Iowa State's seed and the host site for the first and second rounds. The region is anyone's guess.Iowa State is close to locking up a spot in nearby Milwaukee. Host sites for the first and second rounds are determined by ranking the top 16 teams (each No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 seed) and assigning them to the closest host location, with each location taking two teams and their respective pods. So, what does that mean for Iowa State? Some of the eight host sites are easy to fill. Lexington, Kentucky, and Raleigh, North Carolina, will be assigned teams quickly, with surefire No. 1 and No. 2 seeds Auburn, Duke, Florida, Tennessee and Alabama all close to those sites. Whichever of those five teams finishes at the bottom of that group will likely be sent to Cleveland, joining projected No. 2 seed Michigan State.St. John's has climbed the ranks in recent weeks and is in contention for a No. 2 seed, where it will have very little competition for nearby Providence, Rhode Island. Three teams in the state of Texas with projections in the top 16 — Houston, Texas Tech and Texas A&M — all have Wichita followed by Denver on their list of closest host cities. That means there's very little risk of Iowa State missing out on Milwaukee. The Cyclones would need to fall behind Kentucky (which would go to Milwaukee if Cleveland is filled up) and one of Wisconsin or Purdue to have any shot at missing out on their nearest location. If you're already looking ahead to a road trip for the first weekend, Milwaukee's games will be played on Thursday and Saturday. Times are yet to be announced. What will Drake be seeded in the NCAA Tournament?CBS bracketology: No. 12 seed (West region, Denver)ESPN bracketology: No. 10 seed (Midwest region; Lexington)The Athletic: No. 11 seed (South region; Milwaukee)Drake has a wide variety of possibilities depending on how various bubble teams perform in the days leading up to Selection Sunday. While Drake would prefer a better seed in order to make a first-round win more likely, the Bulldogs would almost certainly be sent farther away from Des Moines if they move up to a No. 10. Drake could potentially play in Milwaukee if it gets a No. 11 seed or No. 12 seed. Wichita could also be an option, which may be appealing for Ben McCollum, Bennett Stirtz and the other Drake members who dominated the Division II ranks while at Northwest Missouri State. Wichita is just four hours from the Northwest Missouri State campus and three hours from Stirtz's hometown.» Subscribe to 糖心vlog's YouTube page» Download the free 糖心vlog app to get updates on the go: Apple | Google Play
