Amelia is now on the top 10 for the first time ever, and Evelyn made the list for the first time since 1915. “These traditional names show parents are keeping up the trend of naming daughters after grandmothers,” the Social Security Administration noted in a press release. As usual, celebrities had an influence in baby names last year. The fastest-rising boys name was Wells, which might be because of Wells Adams, a contestant on "The Bachelorette" and "Bachelor in Paradise." The name Melania is also rising in popularity for girls, which shows the first lady’s influence. And the Kardashian effect was in full force, with more parents naming their children Dream, like Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna did in 2016.
