FIRST. TONIGHT WE START WITH LATE BREAKING NEWS FROM WASHINGTON. SENATE REPUBLICAN LEADER MITCH MCCONNELL FELL AFTER A GOP LUNCH THIS AFTERNOON. A SPOKESPERSON FOR THE 82 YEAR OLD SAID HE HAS A MINOR CUT TO THE FACE AND A SPRAINED WRIST. SENATOR MCCONNELL WAS WITH WYOMING SENATOR JOHN BARRASSO AT THE TIME, WHO IS ALSO A DOCTOR. HE SAID MCCONNELL WALKED BACK TO HIS OFFICE AFTER THE FALL WITH NO ASSISTANCE. MEDICAL STAFF WERE SEEN TAKING A WHEELCHAIR INTO MCCONNELL’S OFFICE MINUTES LATER, BUT HE HAS BEEN CLEARED TO RESUME HIS SCHEDULE.
