While all the stars you know and love are out doing interviews on the Golden Globe red carpet every year, there is a big dinner being served inside. The majority of them miss the dinner, as they are doing interviews, and therefore end up drunk and starving throughout the super long show. Or at least they used to, until nominee Melissa McCarthy got the idea to sneak dozens of very large sandwiches into the show.
reports McCarthy and her husband Ben Falcone managed to smuggle 30 (though Falcone it was 40) ham and cheese baguettes in to the broadcast without getting caught onscreen at all over the course of four hours. Not one person is sure how they managed to do it, but they were all incredibly grateful they did.
Jessica Chastain told the mag, "It’s a good idea because by the time you get into the ballroom dinner has already been served, and you’re always so hungry.” Newly minted Golden Globe winner Olivia Colman even shouted out the sandwiches onstage, calling the snack "amazing."
The sandwiches came from LA's , and though they were seemingly a huge hit, McCarthy said "next year, [she's] bringing hot dogs.”
