"The View" co-host is well-known as the Clapback Queen, recently with just six simple words: "You were at my wedding, Denise."
Long story short, Denise McAllister, who works at the conservative online magazine "The Federalist" (which Meghan's husband, Ben Domenech, founded, by the way), tweeted that she didn't understand "the purpose of 'The View.'" Moreover, she called the women on the show and said "they ricochet ignorance and lack of emotional regulation."
In response, Meghan shot back — yep, you guessed it — "You were at my wedding, Denise," and instantly went viral. Denise eventually clarifying that the mean tweet wasn't about Meghan at all, but it was already too late: The internet had already started to churn out the hilarious jokes, like this one:
Amid all of that, folks were searching for more about said wedding that Denise apparently forgot she was at and also for Meghan's husband, who "The View" co-host married in 2017.
And so, here's more info about Meghan and Ben's wedding and their relationship:
Not too much is known about Meghan and Ben's early days as a couple together, as the two seem to be fairly private. But we do know, however, that the pair before the conservative host announced they were engaged in November of 2017 and that Ben met Meghan's dad, late , in epic fashion.
“[Ben] works in politics and has for a long time, so he wasn’t as intimidated, and he actually met my dad at my brother’s wedding for the first time and ended up talking about health care or something very wonky," Meghan
"He’s so conservative. He’s funny in his own way.”
Beyond the fact that the two loved to and go together, what made their relationship even stronger is that John himself confirmed he really liked Ben when he came on the show in November 2017.
"Actually, he's a very fine man. I'm very proud and very happy that they're so happy together," about his daughter's fiancé.
The two ended up tying the knot Nov. 21, 2017, just weeks after Meghan shared their engagement news. The ceremony took place right before sunset at the McCain family lodge in Sedona, Arizona, according to .
“I wanted a western country wedding — my aisle was cowhide. I want to give a big special shout-out to Shooter Jennings for singing. And I pulled Clay Aiken out of retirement to sing and got my dad to cry," she told the publication, while also adding that she got "very drunk on whiskey" for the occasion.
From the highs of their relationship, like their wedding, to the lows, like the death of John in August of 2018 from brain cancer, Meghan says Ben has always stuck by her side.
"I married for love and my husband carried me through my dad’s cancer,” Meghan said on the show in early 2019. “And if I had married a [expletive] that made the most money ever, that was the wealthiest dude I dated, no way I would have survived last year."
Looking ahead, Meghan and Ben seem stronger than ever. On the topic of kids, the co-host she and her husband weren't "quite there yet," but that Meghan's mom, Cindy McCain, was anxious to have more grandkids (she has one from her son, Jack, and his wife, Renee) to chase around.
No matter what happens in life next, Meghan seems eternally grateful she found such a strong companion in Ben.
"I’ve been single for so long, and I never thought I’d get married,” Meghan previously said on "The View."
“Wait for people who love strong women. The men who love strong, independent women, they’re out there. Don’t settle for less.”
