McDonald's will start using fresh beef that will be cooked to order in their quarter-pound burgers.The rollout starts today at 3,500 restaurants in eight U.S. cities.It will be at all participating U.S. restaurants by May.After being publicly shamed by Wendy's in a Super Bowl ad for using frozen beef in their burgers, McDonald's will begin to start using fresh beef, cooked to order, in their Quarter Pounder and Signature Crafted Recipe burgers today.The fresh-beef burgers will be available starting today at 3,500 restaurants in Atlanta, Charlotte, Memphis, Miami, Nashville, Orlando, Raleigh and Salt Lake City and will rolled out to the rest of the U.S. by early May. "The switch to fresh beef quarter-pound burgers is the most significant change to our system and restaurant operations since All Day Breakfast," McDonald's USA President Chris Kempczinski said in a statement. "Over the past two years, we have been listening to our customers and evolving our business to build a better McDonald's. We are proud to bring our customers a hotter and juicier quarter-pound burger at the speed and convenience they expect from us."In addition to switching to fresh beef, McDonald's also announced a brand new Signature Crafted Recipe sandwich that will go on sale in April. The Garlic White Cheddar is made with your choice of a quarter-pound burger or chicken and comes with a creamy garlic aioli sauce and crispy garlic chips piled on top of tomato, lettuce and white cheddar cheese.
