The official, full-length " has arrived and it includes the flying umbrellas, animated crossover scenes and chimney sweep dance numbers you know and love from the 1964 original — plus some new magical adventures.
Emily Blunt stars as the titular whimsical nanny, made famous by Julie Andrews in the 1964 film. "Hamilton's" Lin-Manuel Miranda as Jack, a chimney sweep and apprentice under Bert, originally played by Dick Van Dyke. The story follows Blunt's Poppins as she returns to London after 25 and reunites with the Banks children, who are now grown up.
Although Andrews won't appear in the sequel, Van Dyke will return as Mr. Dawes. The preview teases his bearded, dancing character.
Meryl Streep is also set to make a cameo, as Poppins' cousin Topsy.
The cast also includes Colin Firth (William Weatherall Wilkins, owner of Fidelity Fiduciary Bank), Emily Mortimer (Jane Banks) and Ben Whishaw (Michael Banks).
Blunt previously teased that would be nothing like Andrews' — she didn't even watch the original movie while filming.
"I had seen it as a kid but I didn’t watch the details of it all because I had to do my version of her," she told in April.
“My perception of her in the books is that she is batty, eccentric, hilarious and incredibly rude and vain,” she added. “I like that idea that she sweeps in and takes it all over and makes everything great.”
"Mary Poppins Returns" flies into theaters on Dec. 19. Watch the trailer above.
