Lorde admits she had a secret Instagram account that reviewed onion rings

If this whole music thing doesn't work out, she's got a future as a food critic.

Earlier this week, Lorde was the center of what was without question the best news story on the internet — the question of whether or not she ran an Instagram account for onion ring reviews. The account was called @onionringsworldwide, had followers that included several people Lorde definitely knows and did exactly what it sounds like — provided a place for someone to share their thoughts on onion rings they'd eaten around the world. But after speculation began that the account belonged to Lorde, it got deleted. Why, Lorde, why?Thank Jimmy Fallon for solving this mystery because during her appearance on Thursday's episode of The Tonight Show, Jimmy asked her point-blank if it was hers. "It's me, it's me, it's me," she said. "I sort of naively didn’t realize it would be, like, a thing that I was going to different places and trying the onion rings at each of those places." She also explained that she didn't want people to think she was doing it just to be relatable, that she and her friends just thought it was funny. "I was like, this is a good pastime," she said. "It was fun for, like, five seconds." Lorde says she has no plans to bring back @onionringsworldwide, because she doesn't want people throwing onion rings at her every time she goes anywhere. She will keep eating them though because onion rings are, of course, really tasty. "I don't think they get enough credit for how delicious they are," she explained. Hopefully she'll change her mind about the Instagram reviews just so she can assume the title the internet really wants her to use for the account: Lorde of the Onion Rings.
