It's really the embodiment of Americana. The Labor Day parade, crowds come out by the hundreds to show just how patriotic they are because everyone knows what Labor Day is. Do you know what Labor Day is? Yeah. What is it? Something about the army? Uh, women give birth. Do you think it has anything to do with the Chicago Bears? No. Well, that's *** start. At least the Essex Iowa Labor Day parade. It's marching bands marching, it's kids making noise. Its hometown heroes being treated as such in the Olympic marathon was *** childhood dream of mine and Sue Youngberg Rigg. Born and raised in Essex. She ran the Olympic Marathon for Great Britain this year. She's someone who obviously knows the meaning of hard work. So it's appropriate. She makes her homecoming on Labor Day. But to find the true meaning of Labor Day, you've got to find someone for whom the day is named *** laborer *** day off for everybody else.
