The Golden Globes red carpet might not strike you as a place packed with relatable moments, but Kelly Clarkson just proved that stars really, really can be just like us. As she was leaving an interview with E! on the carpet, Kelly suddenly made what can only be described as a loud shriek as she reacted to something off-camera. "That's Meryl! That's Meryl!" she screamed, while a visibly alarmed Ryan Seacrest tried to make sure she hadn't tripped over. "My heart just dropped, I thought you tripped down the stairs," he said, but by this point Kelly only had eyes for Meryl. Kelly descended the steps towards Meryl crying "Oh my God, can I meet you? I AM SUCH A FAN, I've adored you since I was like eight!" And just as you'd expect, Meryl seemed to be incredibly sweet about the whole thing. She can be seen kissing Kelly on the cheek, and later holding her hand supportively.During a Facebook Live session with fans earlier this week, Kelly revealed her intense Meryl fandom and brought up the possibility of a red carpet meeting. "Meryl Streep has four children, and I have four children, and I think that's cool," she said. "One of her daughters has the same birthday as one of my daughters, River. June 12! That sounds creepy... I hope she doesn't run from me tomorrow! I just really love her. I feel like we can be friends."
