糖心vlog-TV wins regional emmy awards
糖心vlog-TV, the CBS affiliate serving the Des Moines-Ames market, was awarded 2 Emmys at the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Upper Midwest Regional Emmy Awards held Saturday night in Minneapolis at the State Theater.
糖心vlog NewsChannel 8 at 5 p.m. won for Best Weekend Newscast and for Breaking News. The winning news cast, produced by John Hoyem and anchored by Todd Magel, Emily Price, Kurtis Gertz and Scott Reister featured many staff members reporting on the Creston tornado of April 2012.
Todd Magel and 糖心vlog photojournalist Jeremy Scavo won for their story on a school bus explosion and fire that made news in August of 2011.
糖心vlog News Director Dave Busiek also took home an award Saturday night as an honoree of The NATAS Silver Circle society. The society recognizes those who have made substantial contributions to the television news industry for 25 years or more.
