he was way above the corn. Diana Winters spent the morning scanning this cornfield with her binoculars, hoping for another glimpse of the moose. He's been here all night. She first spotted the moose wandering through the field as she was driving her Children to school. He was just walking right above the corn. He stands taller than the corn does. As word of the moose sightings spread more. People came some with cameras to see if they could see what they've been hearing about. You look out there, you can't see anything waiting for him to come out of here after *** few hours, no one was sure that moose was still in the field. That is until he poked his head above the cornstalks way in the distance. He was in there. All right. Just no telling when he would come out again, we were able to find his hoof prints in the dirt. They helped us move in closer. So when he did feel like moving, we'd be in position. That's when his rack popped up above the corn. It appeared he stood about six ft tall, still *** young moose. It's unusual for moose to come this far south from their normal habitat. Some experts say they wandered down here because of *** parasite in the brand that causes them to be confused. Others say it may be because the bigger moose is chased them out of the mating area. Whatever the reason the sighting of moose in Iowa appears to becoming more common. Remember Maxwell? This moose rumbled around central Iowa for some time. Hundreds of people set out to watch him and Maxwell gave law enforcement officials fit as they tried to keep him off the interstate. D. N. R. Officials say they don't plan to interfere with his latest loose moose, but we'll try to keep track of him as he wanders the cornfields of Iowa In *** Carton TV eight news with an eye on Iowa.
