John Stamos, the best uncle on TV (with the best hair), is now a dad in real life. On Sunday, the actor took to Instagram to announce the birth of his first child with wife Caitlin McHugh, along with the most precious photo of their baby sleeping on dad’s chest while holding onto dad’s finger. “From now on, the best part of me will always be my wife and my son,” he wrote. “Welcome Billy Stamos (named after my father)." Stamos also included the hashtags #NotJustanUncleAnymore and #Overjoyed.Billy’s grandfather passed away in 1989. In December, Stamos paid tribute to his late father with a throwback photo. “I will certainly fall short of the father my pop was, but – I’m going to give it my all!” he wrote.Stamos previously told People, “It kills me that my parents aren’t here to be part of this, but I know it probably wouldn’t be happening if they weren’t up there. You know how you put your father on a pedestal and he’s a superhero, and then as you grow older, you go, ‘Ah, he’s just a man’? I never got to that point. Till the day he died, he was bigger than life to me.” Stamos’s mom Loretta died in 2014.Stamos and McHugh, a model and actress, announced their baby news in December 2017 and tied the knot two months later. Stamos proposed at Disneyland in October 2017 after nearly two years of dating. The location was chosen because the Happiest Place on Earth is one of McHugh's favorite places — plus, she's a Disneybounder, someone who dresses up as Disney characters at the park.“I’ll be a fun dad,” Stamos told People. “I’ve been practicing for a long time. I’ve done every schtick you can do with a baby on TV… all the bits and jokes and diaper gags. I’ll probably just do all that stuff.”
