NOVEMBER. STACEY PEPPER, THANK YOU. THE CITY OF INDIANOLA IS PAYING TRIBUTE TO A BELOVED SIMPSON COLLEGE PRESIDENT AND COMMUNITY LEADER, WHO DIED LAST WEEK. JAY BYERS WAS FOUND DEAD INSIDE HIS HOME ON CAMPUS LAST THURSDAY. TONIGHT, THE CITY COUNCIL VOTED TO DECLARE FRIDAY, APRIL 25TH. JAY BYERS, DAY BEFORE LEADING SIMPSON STARTING IN 2023. BYERS WAS THE CEO OF GREATER DES MOINES PARTNERSHIP. HE WORKED WITH CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND BUSINESS OWNERS ACROSS CENTRAL IOWA. HIS SERVICE WILL BE HELD FRIDAY MORNIN

The city of Indianola is paying tribute to a beloved Simpson College president and community leader who died last week.Jay Byers was found dead inside his home on campus last Thursday. The city of Indianola is paying tribute to a beloved Simpson College president and community leader who died last week.
Jay Byers was found dead inside his home on campus last Thursday. Indianola Mayor Steve Richardson signed a proclamation at Monday's city council meeting to declare Friday, April 25 as "Jay Byers Day."
