Jared Leto has denied reports that he was ever in line to play Hugh Hefner in Brett Ratner's now-cancelled biopic.Playboy Enterprises have announced that they're putting the production on hold in the wake of the sexual harassment allegations being made against Ratner. Earlier this month it had been claimed that Leto was set to play the late magazine publisher, but his representative has now clarified that the Oscar-winning star never had an intention to take on the role. "Jared Leto is not and was not attached to a Brett Ratner-directed Hugh Hefner film, nor will he be working with him in the future," Leto's rep told Deadline. "Earlier reports were incorrect and not confirmed by his representatives."Margot Robbie had also been linked the project. Playboy Enterprises added to the publication: "We are deeply troubled to learn about the accusations against Brett Ratner. "We find this kind of behaviour completely unacceptable. We are putting all further development of our projects with RatPac Entertainment on hold until we are able to review the situation further."Deadline also reports that the Rush Hour filmmaker had been set on directing a film about Hefner since 2007, with Robert Downey Jr attached to the role at one point. Meanwhile, six women - including actresses Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge - have made accusations of sexual misconduct against Ratner in the Los Angeles Times.Ratner's lawyer Martin Singer has "categorically" disputed the women's claims and told the newspaper: "I have represented Mr Ratner for two decades, and no woman has ever made a claim against him for sexual misconduct or sexual harassment."Furthermore, no woman has ever requested or received any financial settlement from my client."Ratner has also announced he will "step away" from work with Warner Bros. following the allegations.
