APRIL 1ST AT 11 A.M. OH MY GOSH. I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO CHECKING THAT OUT. YES. IF YOU’RE EATING OUTSIDE TONIGHT, GOOD ON YOU. EXCEPT HOLD ON TO YOUR PLATES. PAPER PLATES. RIGHT? RIGHT. YOU GET THE HEAVIER PLATES OUT THERE. IT’S STILL BREEZY OUT THERE, AND IT WILL STAY BREEZY FOR A MAJORITY OF THE EVENING. TONIGHT INTO THE WEEKEND. ALTHOUGH TOMORROW WILL NOT BE AS GUSTY OF WINDS AS WE SAW TODAY. HERE’S A LIVE LOOK OUT OVER PRINCIPLE PARK HERE FROM DOWNTOWN DES MOINES. WE STILL HAVE THE SUNSHINE TREES LOOKING A LITTLE BARE AS WE GO INTO EARLY SPRING, OF COURSE, BUT EVENTUALLY WE’LL GREEN UP. A NICE NIGHT FOR BASEBALL. WE’VE GOT THE WIND, AS WE’VE MENTIONED, BUT TEMPERATURES ARE FEELING LIKE SUMMER. WE’RE STILL HANGING ON CLOSE TO 80 DEGREES NOW AS WE HEAD INTO THE 6:00 HOUR SOUTHWEST WINDS AT SUSTAINED RIGHT NOW AT ABOUT 25MPH. SO AGAIN, WE KEEP THE BREEZE AROUND TONIGHT THROUGH THE DAY TOMORROW. MILD START TO THE DAY HEADING INTO YOUR SATURDAY. UPPER 50S IN THE MORNING. AS WE GO THROUGH THE AFTERNOON, WE’LL SEE A BETTER CHANCE FOR AN ISOLATED SHOWER OR STORM HERE. PROBABLY AFTER SUNSET I THINK WOULD BE THE BULL’S EYE FOR THAT. SO DAYTIME HOURS TOMORROW ARE REALLY GOING TO BE PRETTY DRY WITH JUST SOME EXTRA CLOUDS BUILDING IN THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. TONIGHT STAYS FAIRLY QUIET. IF WE SEE ANY ACTIVITY, IT’S GOING TO BE FAR NORTHWEST IOWA, WHERE WE KIND OF HAVE A DECAYING LINE OF SHOWERS AND STORMS THAT TRIES TO DEVELOP, BUT ONCE IT GETS HERE, IT REALLY FIZZLES OUT. CLOUDS BUILD IN THROUGH THE START OF THE DAY TOMORROW, ESPECIALLY NORTH OF I-80. SO NORTHERN IOWA, YOU’RE KIND OF STUCK UNDER THE CLOUDS MORE SHOWERY CHANCES THROUGH LUNCHTIME OR SO. SOUTHERN CENTRAL IOWA WE STAY DRY, DRY ALL THE WAY THROUGH TOMORROW EVENING. WE GET INTO SATURDAY NIGHT. WE’VE GOT A BETTER SHOT AT SOME SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING HERE AND PUSHING THROUGH OVERNIGHT INTO EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. SUNDAY, I THINK, WILL FEATURE A FEW MORE SHOWERS IN THIS MODEL IS GIVING US IN THE MORNING HOURS, SO SOME LEFTOVER RAIN. DEFINITELY A CLOUDY DAY BY THE EVENING AND AFTERNOON. I THINK WE DRY THINGS OUT, SO SECOND HALF OF SUNDAY SHOULD BE DRY, BUT IT’S GOING TO FEEL A LOT COOLER AND WE’RE GOING TO HAVE STRONG WINDS ON SUNDAY. REST OF TONIGHT. WE STILL HAVE A BREEZY NIGHT AHEAD BY SATURDAY MORNING. A LITTLE BIT OF A BREAK FROM THE WINDS, BUT THEY KIND OF UPTICK AGAIN BY SATURDAY EVENING. STILL GUSTING TO ABOUT 25MPH OR SO. BY SUNDAY. WE’VE GOT A NORTHWEST WIND GIVING US SOME COOLER AIR FOR SUNDAY, AND THOSE WIND GUSTS STILL 25 TO 30MPH FOR THE DAY ON SUNDAY. HIGH SUNDAY, MID 40S. SO A LITTLE BIT OF A JOLT THERE. OR JUST KIND OF A SHOCK FROM SATURDAY TO SUNDAY DOES GET A LITTLE BIT COOLER. BRIEFLY MONDAY IS DRY WITH MORE SUNSHINE THAT SHOULD FEEL NICE. CLOSER TO 50 BY TUESDAY AFTERNOON. WE’RE BACK TO THE MID 50S. SO TONIGHT PRETTY MILD OUT THERE. A STRAY STORM POSSIBLE INTO NORTHWEST IOWA. TOMORROW’S FORECAST LOW TO MID 70S FOR CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN IOWA. AGAIN NORTHERN IOWA YOU’RE STUCK IN THE CLOUDS FOR A GOOD PORTION OF THE DAY. SO IT’S A LITTLE BIT COOLER UP NORTH. EIGHT DAY FORECAST KEEPS US WINDY ON SUNDAY BUT NOT A WASHOUT I THINK. BEST CHANCE OF RAIN SUNDAY WILL BE FIRST HALF OF THE DAY DRY MONDAY WE’RE BACK TO A LITTLE BIT OF AN UNSETTLED WEATHER PATTERN. BY LATE TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY I THINK WE COULD SEE MAYBE SOME OVERNIGHT RAIN AND STORMS TUESDAY, AND THEN SOME LEFTOVER SHOWERS ON
