Iowa weather: Relief is ahead after even more heat
Parts of Iowa have a chance for storms before cooler temperatures arrive.

Areas north of Hwy. 20 will end up on the other side of a boundary and only feel like low 90s.
That boundary will be the focus of rain potential in the next 48 hours. Draped east-west across the northern half of Iowa, this mostly stationary front will be the pathway a few disturbances ride along and generate isolated storms.
The first chance will be this evening, when a few spotty showers or thundershowers are possible north of Hwy. 30. Tomorrow, the front lifts farther north, so that by late Monday night the Iowa/Minnesota border area ends up as the most likely area for an overnight storm into early Tuesday.
This front will finally be dragged southeast across Iowa Tuesday, and temperatures AND humidity levels will drop.
We'll go from 90s feeling like low 100s Monday to highs of just 79-80° Tuesday.
The cooler than average temperatures will persist the rest of this week.
