'Your barn is gone': Dallas County man talks about Tuesday's storm damage
Shane Boston of rural Dallas Center lost a barn in Tuesday morning's storm, but he feels blessed that nobody was hurt.
Boston recalled the phone call he received as he was heading home from work, when local authorities alerted him that horses were out.
"Your horses are out because your barn is gone," Boston said his sister-in-law told him in a second call.

A large portion of the destroyed barn was lying across 230th Street, not far from its original location, when Boston arrived home.
Nobody was home when the storm hit, no horses were injured, and Boston said there was only minor damage to his house.
"I (feel) pretty blessed that we have what we have left," he said.

Boston said a tornado damaged the property in 1977, long before he moved there, and another tornado damaged his father-in-law's property nearby in 2005. He said they learned then that people would chip in and help with cleanup and anything else they needed.
"You live in a county (where) people care about people ... and take care of each other," Boston said as someone pulled up with a skidloader without him knowing they were coming. "I don't even know who (that) is.
"We're just blessed to be in a community where we have that much group, that much network, that much love and care and compassion."
