Isolated showers will push through the state Tuesday night bringing very small amounts of rain. Interactive Radar | Weather Alerts Behind this system, we're looking at a gorgeous day Wednesday with highs pushing back into the low to mid-60s under sunny skies. A wave of energy moves in from the west Thursday bringing in chances for showers and even a few thunderstorms. While the severe threat is low with these, we will have potential to pick up some hail which may sporadically reach severe limits (1"). Rainfall amounts will under areas that do see the storms could top 1" in spots, though those amounts will likely not be widespread. An elongated area of low pressure nudges its way into Iowa Friday driving in very strong southwest winds with gusts up to 40 mph. This will surge in warmth driving our high temperatures into the upper 70s to low 80s across much of the state under mostly sunny skies. The area of low pressure shifts eastward through the state this weekend bringing shower and thunderstorm chances Saturday (severe threat low) and rain chances Sunday. A trailing center of low pressure moving through Missouri late Sunday into Monday will bring in more chances for rain which we may see transition over to snow. Models are split completely on this as one doesn't even develop the center of low pressure until it is well east of the state. We'll have more agreement (hopefully) once we get closer. Temperatures take a nosedive after the series of low-pressure centers move through with highs in the low 70s Saturday dropping into the mid to upper 40s on Sunday.
