Iowa weather: Windy stretch continues with strong storms possible Thursday
We've had a gorgeous Tuesday, even with the windy conditions.
Sad to say those winds won't be going anywhere anytime soon. Plan on strong gusts to 30 mph continuing through the end of the week.

Temperatures will be climbing with highs in the low 70s Wednesday and mid-70s Thursday ahead of a strong area of low pressure driving in our next chance for strong storms Thursday. We'll likely see some showers and thunderstorms during the morning hours Thursday and again in the evening.
Morning storms may have the potential for some small hail, but the main threat will come after around 6-7 p.m. Thursday to western Iowa with the metro possibly being impacted around 8-9 p.m.. At this point it looks like the storms will be elevated leading to the main threat with the storms being hail and possibly a few damaging wind gusts. Any tornado threat at this point is rather low, though we'll have to keep an eye on models as we inch closer for any changes.
Temperatures cool on Friday into the upper 60s with low to mid-60s throughout the weekend.
Winds briefly taper back Saturday before returning Sunday. Another system looks to bring in rain chances for your Easter Sunday, though currently models are split on its exact evolution with some taking the bulk of the rain south of the state entirely and others bringing a decent soaking rain. We'll have a better idea on this as we get closer.
Next week we'll again be warming up with mid-60s Monday and back close to 70 by Tuesday.
