THROUGH SATURDAY AND ZANE. I THINK THE BIG QUESTION HERE, AS WE LOOK AT THAT, WE KNOW EASTER GOING TO BE WET, RAINY, RIGHT? WHAT DOES THE REST OF THE WEEK LOOK LIKE FOR THE DRAKE RELAY? YEAH, I THINK ONCE WE GET TO A LOT OF THE MAIN EVENTS ON THE TRACK BY LATE THIS WEEK, THINGS LOOK A LITTLE BIT LESS LIKE THIS. SO I THINK WE’LL BE IN BETTER SHAPE BY THEN. BUT YEAH, EASTER TOMORROW, AS WE’VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT, IS STILL LOOKING PRETTY SOGGY HERE. WET AND BREEZY TOMORROW. KIND OF A COOL FEEL AS WELL. SO GOING TO HAVE TO DO MOST OF THE EASTER STUFF, PROBABLY INSIDE A LOT OF THE EASTER EGG HUNTS AND ALL THAT COOL THING HAPPENED THIS MORNING WHEN IT WAS MUCH NICER. WILL BE SUNNIER AGAIN BY MONDAY NEXT WEEK. THERE IS SOME RAIN, BUT I THINK NOT TOWARDS THE LATER PART OF THE WEEK. WE’LL TALK ABOUT THAT HERE IN A MINUTE. BEFORE WE GET TO THAT, I DO WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE THIRD GRADERS OUT AT RUNNELLS ELEMENTARY, ONE OF THE SOUTHEAST POLK SCHOOLS. IN RUNNELLS ITSELF. WE GOT TO TALK TO THEM BACK ON TUESDAY ABOUT ALL THINGS SEVERE WEATHER, WEATHER, SCIENCE, YOU NAME IT, THE ATMOSPHERE, ALL THAT GOOD STUFF. THEY WERE GREAT. TIME TO TALK TO THEIR IN THEIR SCHOOL LIBRARY. SO THANK YOU TO THOSE FOLKS, THE THIRD GRADERS, FOR HAVING ME OUT. EARLIER THIS WEEK. IT WAS SUNNY THAT DAY. IT WAS SUNNY TODAY AS WELL. IT’S STILL CLEAR OUTSIDE TONIGHT, ALTHOUGH SOUTHERN IOWA, YOU’RE STARTING TO SEE MORE CLOUDS STARTING TO MOVE ON IN. NEAREST RAINFALL IS DOWN IN PART OF THE BASICALLY MIDDLE PART OF MISSOURI AT THIS HOUR. THE BIGGER PART OF OUR SYSTEM THAT’S COMING TOMORROW IS STILL OFF SCREEN TO THE SOUTH AND THE WEST. THAT WILL FILL IN AS WE HEAD TOWARDS TOMORROW. IN THE MEANTIME, WE’VE GOT SOME DRY AIR WITH HIGH PRESSURE OVERHEAD. THINGS ARE STILL PRETTY QUIET HERE. THE RAIN WILL MOVE IN EVENTUALLY, THOUGH. YOU SEE THAT BIG SWATH OF THOSE BRIGHTER BLUE COLORS THAT’S A WIDESPREAD HALF INCH TO AN INCH. I THINK A LOT OF US CAN EXPECT AS WE GET INTO TOMORROW, AND THERE WILL BE SOME POCKETS, PROBABLY OF AN INCH AND A HALF TO TWO INCHES, WHICH WILL BE GREAT NEWS FOR SOME OF YOU FOLKS WHO ARE A LITTLE BUMMED THAT YOU MISSED OUT ON SOME OF THE RAIN FROM THE STORMS BACK ON THURSDAY NIGHT. WE’VE GOT A PRETTY GOOD CHANCE FOR A SOAKING FOR MOST PLACES HERE AS WE HEAD TOWARDS TOMORROW. REST OF TONIGHT WE JUST SEE GRADUALLY INCREASING CLOUD COVER HERE. WE’LL STOP THE CLOCK BEFORE SUNRISE AT ABOUT 6 A.M., MAYBE A SHOWER OR TWO DOWN ALONG THE MISSOURI BORDER, UP TOWARDS ABOUT HIGHWAY TWO. MORE LIKELY IT WILL BE TOWARDS SEVEN 8:00 9:00. WE GET RAIN COMING ON INTO SOUTHERN IOWA FIRST 10:00 THEREABOUTS, GIVE OR TAKE AN HOUR TOWARDS I-80 HERE IN THE DES MOINES METRO. STARTING TO SEE SOME SHOWERS AND THEN THAT RAIN SPREADS NORTHWARD TOWARDS LUNCHTIME THROUGH THE REST OF THE STATE. I THINK BY LUNCHTIME TO EARLY AFTERNOON, PRETTY MUCH EVERYBODY WILL HAVE SOME RAINFALL GOING AT SOME STAGE, AND THEN WE’LL CONTINUE SHOWERS AS WE GO TO THE AFTERNOON AND KEEP THINGS PRETTY COOL. I MENTIONED THERE’S GOING TO BE A BREEZE OUT OF THE NORTH AND THE EAST, TEMPERATURES NOT GOING TO GO UP TOO MUCH. ONLY 40 TO MAYBE A COOL 50 DEGREES IN A LOT OF SPOTS, MAYBE A LITTLE BIT WARMER. IF YOU CAN GET A A DRY HOUR OR TWO UNDER SOME CLOUDS TOWARDS THE AFTERNOON, THEN ONCE WE GET TOWARDS THE EVENING, THE MAIN LOW PRESSURE CENTER STARTS TO COME IN FROM THE SOUTH AND THE WEST. THIS IS WHY WE’RE PROBABLY GOING TO SEE SOME HEAVIER POCKETS OF RAIN, ESPECIALLY IN EASTERN IOWA. A LITTLE BIT BETTER CHANCE OF MAYBE SOME THUNDERSTORMS OVER THIS DIRECTION. AND THEN AS WE HEAD TOWARDS TOMORROW NIGHT, STILL SOME RAIN, BUT IT WILL TAPER OFF FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST FOR A LOT OF US AFTER MIDNIGHT AND THEN INTO THE PRE-DAWN HOURS OF MONDAY MORNING. LOW PRESSURE GOES AWAY. NOW. WE’LL START YOUR MONDAY WITH SOME CLOUDS. 7 A.M. SUN’S UP STILL GRAY, BUT THE CLOUDS WILL SCOUR AWAY FROM US FROM WEST TO EAST. AS WE HEAD TOWARDS THE AFTERNOON, AND THAT BREEZE WILL GO DOWN AS WELL, BECAUSE TOMORROW I THINK WE’RE LOOKING AT PROBABLY SOME GUSTS OUT OF THE NORTHEAST AROUND 25 TO 30MPH. SO BETWEEN THE CLOUDS, THE RAIN, THE COOL TEMPERATURES AND A LITTLE BIT OF A WIND, KIND OF A DREARY EASTER TOMORROW. MUCH BETTER THOUGH. BY MONDAY WILL BE INTO THE 60S. THE SUNNIER SKIES COME BACK, AND THEN THAT LITTLE BIT OF AN UNSETTLED STRETCH I MENTIONED TOWARDS THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK. QUICK CHANCE OF SOME SHOWERS, MAYBE A STORM DURING THE DAY TUESDAY, AND THEN AFTER THAT QUICKLY MOVES OUT OF HERE. WE SHOOT UP INTO THE 70S, WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY. A LITTLE HARD TO PIN DOWN. EXACTLY. RAIN TIMING JUST YET, BUT WE’LL TRY TO GET THAT TO YOU ONCE WE GET A LITTLE BIT CLOSER. AND THEN BY THE END OF THE WEEK LATER, PART
