IT COMES FROM THE DES MOINES REGISTER ALONG WITH NBC NEWS AND MEDIA COM IOWA AMONG LIKELY CAUCUS GOERS IN IOWA. THE POLL FOUND DONALD TRUMP WITH THE MOST SUPPORT HERE AT 42%. RON DESANTIS FOLLOWED AT 19%. NO OTHER CANDIDATE CRACKED 10%, BUT TIM SCOTT CAME IN CLOSE IN THIRD AT 9%. A new Des Moines Register/NBC News/Mediacom Iowa Poll shows a significant advantage for former President Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 Iowa caucus.Trump garnered 42% of the vote from likely caucusgoers in the poll, according to the Register. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was a distant second place at 19%.No other candidate cracked 10%. Tim Scott came in third at 9%. Five percent of the 406 people polled said they aren't sure about their pick for the nomination.The margin of error was plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.
