ONE. THANK YOU. TODD. WELL, THE BLIZZARD STRANDED A GROUP OF STUDENTS TRAVELING ON A BUS FROM MINNESOTA. THANKFULLY, SAC CITY SHOWED THE GROUP A LOT OF HOSPITALITY. THE SAC CITY COMMUNITY CENTER PROVIDED SHELTER, COTS AND BLANKETS FOR THE GROUP. LAW ENFORCEMENT HELPED WITH TRANSPORTATION AND FOOD. PRIDE. THE LOCAL GROCERY STORE RUSHED TO GET MEALS TOGETHER FOR THE KIDS AND EMPLOYEES. SANDY DIERENFELD SAYS IT TOOK HER ABOUT AN HOUR TO GET ALL THE FOOD TOGETHER, AND SHE WAS HAPPY TO HELP. YOU KNOW, I DO A LOT OF DIFFERENT THINGS FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY HERE. SO IT WAS JUST LIKE SOMEBODY NEEDED HELP AND I WAS ABLE TO DO SOMETHING FOR THEM. SO I DIDN’T MIND DOING IT AT ALL. A group from Minnesota was greeted with some Iowa Nice when they found themselves stranded during Wednesday's severe winter weather.The group from Cleveland, Minnesota, included 45 kids and was headed to Florida on Wednesday when their bus got stuck in the snow in Auburn.The Sac County Sheriff's Office and an East Sac school bus driver took them to the community center in Sac City and helped set up a place for them to stay.
