AFTER TEN DAYS IN SPACE, IOWA NATIVE AND ASTRONAUT PEGGY WHITSON IS BACK ON EARTH. WHITSON LED THE AXIOM TWO MISSION TO THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION THAT CREW LEARNED ABOUT SPACE STATION SYSTEMS AND WORKED ON EXPERIMENTS. SHE’S THE FIRST WOMAN TO COMMAND A PRIVATE SPACE FLIGHT. BEFORE SHE LEFT, SHE GAVE AN EMOTIONAL GOODBYE TO THE CREW SHE LEFT BEHIND ALONG WITH A PROMISE. THESE GUYS, THEY WELCOMED US ON BOARD AND THEY’VE HELPED US A LOT. The crew learned about the space station's systems and worked on experiments. She's the first woman to command a private spaceflight. Before she left, she gave an emotional goodbye to the crew she left behind, along with a promise."These guys have welcomed us on board," she said. "I will be back."Whitson extends her lead as the most experienced American astronaut ever. In all, she has spent nearly two years of her life in space.
