HAVING. THAT THE CANFIELD DALES FORD ARDON. $60 IN COLLETT THAT I THINK NOW HERE’S SPORTS DIRECTOR SCOTT REISTER WITH vlog EIGHT SPORTS POWERED BY CARL’S AUTO GROUP GOT YOUR SATURDAY PLANNED YET 11 A.M. IOWA HOST UTAH STATE 1:00 IOWA STATE HOST YOU AND I. HOW’S IT SHAPING UP? WE’VE GOT TEAM COVERAGE THIS WEEK. LET’S START WITH JEFF DUBROF IN IOWA CITY. SOME GOOD AND SOME NOT SO GOOD NEWS AS WE APPROACH THE FIRST IOWA HAWKEYE FOOTBALL GAME OF THE SEASON. THE GOOD NEWS, I’LL START WITH THAT. WE SPOKE WITH QUARTERBACK CADE MCNAMARA WHO SAID HE IS PROGRESSING SINCE THAT SOFT TISSUE INJURY. THE NOT SO GOOD NEWS, HE DID NOT CONFIRM WHETHER OR NOT HE WAS GOING TO PLAY AGAINST UTAH STATE THIS SATURDAY. MCNAMARA, AS I MENTIONED, STILL RECOVERING FROM A SOFT TISSUE INJURY THAT HE SUSTAINED DURING A TEAM SCRIMMAGE. HE SAYS HE’S PROGRESSING, FEELING BETTER AND IF IT WERE UP TO HIM, HE’D BE PLAYING THIS SATURDAY. HOWEVER, THAT DECISION IS NOT UP TO HIM, HONESTLY, JUST REALLY GETTING BETTER EVERY SINGLE DAY. THAT DECISION IS JUST REALLY GOING TO COME DOWN TO THE COACHES AND THE MEDICAL STAFF. I’VE BEEN PRACTICING. I HAVEN’T PARTICIPATED IN 100% OF PRACTICE, BUT I’VE BEEN I’VE BEEN PRACTICING. IT’S TRICKY. IT’S ALWAYS TRICKY. SO WE’LL JUST KIND OF TAKE IT DAY BY DAY AND SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. AND AGAIN, THE NUMBER ONE, I THINK, FIRST AND FOREMOST IS WHAT THE MEDICAL PEOPLE SAY. IF YOU CAN’T PLAY, YOU CAN’T PLAY. BUT THAT HASN’T BEEN THE CASE. SO, YOU KNOW, WE’RE JUST GOING TO MAKE SURE HE CAN PLAY EFFECTIVELY AND MAKE MAKE SURE HE CAN PLAY IN A WAY THAT’S REPRESENTATIVE OF THE KIND OF PLAYER HE IS. MCNAMARA STATUS OR LACK THEREOF OF OBVIOUSLY CREATES MORE MYSTERY AROUND AN OFFENSE THAT IS UNDER A MICROSCOPE THIS SEASON. AFTER BEING ONE OF THE WORST IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL IN 2022, THEIR HOPING TO SILENCE DOUBTERS RIGHT AWAY THIS YEAR. WE’RE REALLY EXCITED TO GET OUT THERE ON SATURDAY. WE’VE BEEN WORKING REALLY HARD IN THE OFF SEASON AND DURING CAMP AND STUFF AND WE’RE JUST HAPPY TO FINALLY GET OUT THERE AND JUST DO WHAT WE WANT TO DO AND DO EVERYTHING WE’VE BEEN DOING THROUGHOUT CAMP THROUGHOUT SPRING. I THINK WE’LL GO OUT THERE AND GET THE JOB DONE. I’M EXCITED FOR THE OFFENSE AND I THINK WE’RE ALL READY FOR THE OPPORTUNITY AND WE’RE READY TO ATTACK IT. IT’S BEEN A LONG WAIT TO SILENCE DOUBTERS, BUT THE WAIT MUCH SHORTER NOW. KICKOFF JUST A FEW DAYS AWAY. IOWA HOSTING UTAH STATE RIGHT HERE AT KINNICK STADIUM AT 11 A.M. ON FS ONE REPORTING FROM KINNIC
