IT HAPPENED EARLY TUESDAY MORNING ON INTERSTATE 80 NEAR EARLHAM, WHEN THE SUSPECT OPENED FIRE ON AUTHORITIES IN DALLAS COUNTY. DEPUTIES, DEPUTIES. JACOB BURRELL, ERIC GRIMM AND DREW HURLEY WERE INVOLVED. ADEL POLICE OFFICER JOEL GOHMERT STUART, POLICE OFFICER SHANE MARTINSON AND ADAIR COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTY TYLER DEFRANCISCO WERE THERE. Officials have identified the officers and deputies who fired their weapons Tuesday morning in a shooting that killed a suspect along Interstate 80.The Dallas County Sheriff's Office says Vonderrick Rayford, 51, of Milwaukee, died Tuesday after being shot by deputies and law enforcement officers from other agencies.Rayford was initially pulled over for excessive speeding, according to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office. Authorities said Rayford fired shots at law enforcement "without provocation" during the investigation. The Dallas County Sheriff's Office says Vonderrick Rayford, 51, of Milwaukee, died Tuesday after being shot by deputies and law enforcement officers from other agencies.
Rayford was initially pulled over for excessive speeding, according to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office. Authorities said Rayford fired shots at law enforcement "without provocation" during the investigation. Officers and deputies at the scene returned gunfire and hit Rayford, who died at the scene.
