8-man football team puts up 90 in shutout win

Top-ranked Gladbrook-Reinbeck put up one of the most dominant performances you'll ever see.

The Rebels improved to 3-0 with a 90-0 win — yes, you read that right — over Meskwaki Settlement, which fell to 0-2.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck tallied a ridiculous 54 points in the first quarter and coasted to the win.

It's second-ranked Dowling Catholic against No. 7 Ankeny for our game of the week Friday, Sept. 8. The Maroons, who opened the season with wins over Cedar Rapids Kennedy and West Des Moines Valley, host the Hawks, who beat Ankeny Centennial in Week 1 before losing last week to Southeast Polk.
