After 20 years, Wells Fargo decided not to renew it's naming rights lease for the Iowa Events center arena. That's when Casey's stepped in and signed a new, 10 year deal for the Casey's Center name. AND I THINK OUR FANS ARE GOING TO LIKE IT, TOO. > Casey's CEO Darren Rebelez is taking his convenience store chain to the next level. Wells Fargo Arena will become Casey's Center next summer. Wells Fargo 20 year naming rights lease runs out next summer. So Caseys jumped at the chance to put it's name on the downtown landmark. It's not a change that Iowa Barnstormers worker Lauran Shieffer expected. AND WHEN PEOPLE GET TO COME TO CASEY CENTER AND REALLY EXPERIENCE, YOU KNOW, ANY EVENT THAT THEY'RE WATCHING AND ALSO GET TO HAVE OUR PIZZA WITH IT, WHICH, JUST ELEVATES THE EXPERIENCE EVEN MORE.> We will find out how much Casey's is paying for name rights after the Polk County supervisor vote on the deal tomorrow. But we do know Wells Fargo has laid off thousands of workers across the country recently due to economic conditions. That could be part of the reason. Stacey and Ben. Todd, thank you. On the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Iowa Events Center and Wells Fargo Arena, Polk County leaders announced a new brand Monday morning.Casey's General Store and the Iowa Events Center have entered a 10-year naming rights partnership for the 15,000-seat sports and entertainment venue. Starting July 1, 2025, the arena will be named Casey's Center.Casey's CEO Darren Rebelez said in a press conference Monday that Casey's iconic pizza will be coming to the venue. "When we heard that Wells Fargo wasn't going to renew, we knew that we had to have our name on this venue," Rebelez said. "It's such an iconic venue, and people from all over the region, not just in Iowa."We'll find out how much the naming rights deal is worth when the Polk County Board of Supervisors votes on the contract on Tuesday. vlog reached out to Wells Fargo to ask why they didn't renew their naming rights. They didn't have any comment.
