THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT LIVE REPORTING. WELL, FIRSTRILLIONESPONDERS SPENT HOURS ON TUESDAY HELPING PEOPLE WHO GOT STUCK IN THE LAST SNOW STORM. SERGEANT ALEX DINKLA WITH THE IOWA STATE PATROL IS JOINING US NOW ON THE PHONE TO TALK ABOUT THEIR RESPONSE TODAY. AND SERGEANT, THIS FEELS A BIT LIKE DEJA VU. WHAT ARE TROOPERS SEEING RIGHT NOW IN TERMS OF CRASHES AND FOLKS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD? YOU KNOW, THANKFULLY WE’RE SEEING, UM, A ACTUALLY A LOW REDUCTION OF CRASHES, BUT WE ARE SEEING A LARGE VOLUME OF PEOPLE THAT ARE JUST SIMPLY GOING OFF THE ROADS NEEDING OUR ASSISTANCE. OUR MESSAGE IS MUCH OF THE THIRD EASTERN THIRD OF IOWA IS LISTED AS TRAVEL, NOT ADVISED. UM, I WOULD ACTUALLY HAVE TO SAY THAT’S PROBABLY A LITTLE BIT OF AN UNDERSTATEMENT. UM, WE DO NOT WANT PEOPLE TO TRAVEL UNLESS THEY ARE HAVING TO GO ON AN ESSENTIAL TRIP. PLEASE ASK YOURSELF, IS THE TRIP YOU’RE ABOUT TO MAKE ESSENTIAL OR NOT? BECAUSE ULTIMATELY, IF YOU DO HEAD OUT, YOU’RE PUTTING YOURSELF AT RISK. YOUR PASSENGERS, THE OTHER MOTORISTS, AND THOSE FIRST RESPONDERS THAT ARE OUT THERE TRYING TO RESCUE YOU AND GET YOU BACK TO SAFETY, YOU, SERGEANT, ARE YOU NOTICING? ARE PEOPLE HEEDING THE WARNING TO STAY OFF THE ROADS? THE VIDEO WE’RE SEEING THROUGHOUT THE DAY IS, YOU KNOW, VERY FEW CARS ON THE ROAD, BUT SOME PEOPLE ARE STILL DRIVING. WE ABSOLUTELY CAN TELL THAT THERE IS A HUGE REDUCTION IN VEHICLES THAT ARE TRAVELING OUT ON OUT ON THE ROADWAYS. UM, BUT UNFORTUNATELY, WE WE DO KNOW THAT PEOPLE STILL HAVE TO MAKE TRIPS. AND WE AGAIN, WANT TO MAKE THAT MESSAGE CLEAR, THAT WE UNDERSTAND THAT THERE ARE TRIPS THAT NEED TO BE MADE. UM, BUT THINK ABOUT THOSE TRIPS, ASK YOURSELF, CAN THOSE TRIPS? UH KENDALL PALS US? AND THEN IF YOU HAVE TO HEAD OUT, MAKE SURE THAT YOU’RE WELL PREPARED AND HAVE THAT CELL PHONE, HAVE A CELL PHONE CHARGER AND A FULL TANK OF GAS IN CASE YOU NEED TO SIT FOR A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TIME BEFORE RESCUE GETS TO TO YOUR AID. ALEX DINKLA WITH THE IOWA STATE PATROL, THANK YOU. AND THANK YOU TO ALL THE MEN AND
