You could be one of the four people to go into orbit on the “first all civilian mission to space” announced by SpaceX. A Super Bowl ad for the Inspiration4 mission aired during the first quarter of the big game. Jared Isaacman, a 37-year-old billionaire, announced last week that he is purchasing a flight to space and using it to help raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.Isaacman, founder and CEO of Shift4 Payments, is donating the three seats alongside him aboard Dragon to members of the general public, who will be announced in the weeks ahead.The expedition is part of a charity initiative to raise money for St. Jude. In addition to giving $100 million to St. Jude, Isaacman said he is donating two seats on the mission to St. Jude.One seat will be awarded as part of a sweepstakes and St. Jude fundraising initiative. “The other will go to a St. Jude mission ambassador who exemplifies the courageous vision upon which St. Jude was founded,” a statement from St. Jude said.During the month of February, members of the public can enter for a chance to join the flight to space and support the mission of St. Jude.SpaceX said it is targeting no earlier than the fourth quarter of this year for Falcon 9’s launch of Inspiration4. It will blast off from historic Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Central Florida.
