'I wanted to do something fun': Woman turns 30, celebrates with baby-like photoshoot
You can't help getting older but you don't have to grow old.Houston resident Rhiannon Escalante, who turned 30 on Tuesday, celebrated her big day with a baby-like photoshoot complete with props, from confetti to "about me" chalkboard signs to a fluffy pink tutu.To help her with the shoot, Rhiannon turned to her sister-in-law Andrea Escalante, an amateur photographer.The two women put their heads together to come up with the creative theme after seeing similar photos on Pinterest and Instagram."I wanted to do something fun. People told me your life is over when you turn 30, and it's all downhill," Rhiannon told Chron.com. "But I feel like it's going to be the best decade for me so far."Rhiannon, who works in marketing for a sporting goods chain, said it took the duo around 20 minutes to put the backdrop together and an hour to take approximately 1,000 photos.The obvious difference between Rhiannon's photos and a baby portrait session is the model's age ... and a bottle of champagne."It was a great way to celebrate a new era in my life," Rhiannon said, who posted the photos on her Facebook page Tuesday morning.The reaction from her family and friends has been overwhelmingly positive. "One friend told me that she wants to do the same thing when she turns 30," Rhiannon noted.Rhiannon and Andrea are taking the birthday party on the road to Los Angeles on Wednesday.Andrea has been requesting audience tickets to the Ellen Show for more than a year. Her persistence finally paid off."I've got the best sister-in-law. She's was finally able to get tickets, just in time for my birthday."
