Here are the states suing the Biden administration over the employer vaccine mandate

Here are the states suing the Biden administration over the employer vaccine mandate
we're trying. Mhm. This regulation is structured so it strongly encourages vaccination. It's much easier for employers if they just mandate vaccinations and they put a lot of burden on employees to have to purchase their own testing and masks if the employer doesn't want to do it. I think that's an unfortunate choice. I think employers should be providing those things. But the way it's structured is going to move people into vaccinations very quickly. There certainly will be some industries that decide to wait and they can wait on the the testing program. So after the first year, but the vaccination program has to start immediately. And I think, you know, we're going to see some immediate effects. That will be very possible. We are suffering under real workforce shortages that we are suffering under supply chain issues. Some of which are in turn due to workforce shortages. And so I'm really concerned about what's going to happen if employees in even marginal percentages decide that they would rather not work. Can be subject to mandates like this one. Um, that doesn't at all reflect our industry's view of vaccines in general. It's just reflecting the reality of where we are right now in terms of trying to get employees to come to work every day and help get us through the holiday season. Mm hmm They want us to do and bring back to wash done folks vaccination requirements work. So it's possible for the judge may decide to stay this law. I think that would be a mistake. I think it's unlikely to stand up. But there are governors out there. there are members of Congress who are vociferously anti vaccination, they're anti mask, they're doing this for political reasons. We need these regulations to stay alive. Get the country back to normal. Of course, if the challenges succeed and they don't have to comply going forward, they would make that change. But most companies that we work with certainly are anticipating going ahead and complying with the rule. I think it's important to know that, you know, there's very few states that actually have laws that contradict the position arguably put forward here because it's giving you the choice between mandating vaccination or testing.

Video above: U.S. mandates vaccines or tests for big companiesMore than half of the states in the country have filed or signed on to lawsuits challenging the Biden administration's federal vaccine mandate for large companies. The law, which is set to take effect Jan. 4, would require companies with 100 employees or more as well as any federal contractors to mandate the vaccine or start weekly testing of their workers. This would impact more than 84 million workers, roughly 31 million of whom are unvaccinated. At least 27 states s0 far, most of which are Republican-led, have decided to take legal action against the new rules, claiming the mandate is an example of federal overreach and both "unlawful and unconstitutional."Florida kicked off the states' legal pushback against the mandate, with Gov. Ron DeSantis announcing the Sunshine State's lawsuit on Oct. 29."Just months ago, Joe Biden was saying that it wouldn’t be appropriate or lawful for the federal government to mandate these COVID shots," DeSantis said. "But now we have somehow gone from 15 days to slow the spread to 3 jabs to keep your job. The federal government is exceeding their power and it is important for us to take a stand because in Florida we believe these are choices based on individual circumstances."Labor Secretary Marty Walsh said he stands by the mandate, adding that the administration is well-prepared for the avalanche of legal battles."We're confident about the rule put together, and I think it's unfortunate that this rule has been out for about eight hours now and people already are suing on it," Walsh said on "All Things Consider," an NPR news program. "This is about protecting workers in the workplace. This is about protecting Americans. This is about increasing our number of people in this country that are vaccinated."
