Hawkeyes quarterback Cade McNamara out for the 2023 season with ACL injury
A WORST NIGHTMARE REALIZED FOR THE IOWA HAWKEYES. CADE MCNAMARA OFFICIALLY OUT FOR THE REST OF THE 2023 SEASON. KIRK FERENTZ CONFIRMING TODAY IT’S A TORN ACL IN THE QUARTERBACK’S LEFT KNEE AFTER SUFFERING THAT INJURY AGAINST MICHIGAN STATE IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF THE GAME LAST SATURDAY NIGHT. A REALLY TOUGH BLOW FOR AN ALREADY STRUGGLING HAWKEYE OFFENSE. THE ONLY THING TO DO NOW, THOUGH, IS MOVE FORWARD. THE WORST PART ABOUT FOOTBALL IS THE INJURY CATEGORY. EASILY. THAT’S THE WORST PART ABOUT IT, BUT IT’S ALSO A REALITY. AND WHEN THOSE THINGS HAPPEN, YOU JUST EVERYBODY’S GOT TO KEEP MOVING AND, YOU KNOW, YOU’RE EMPATHETIC TOWARDS THE PEOPLE THAT ARE OUT AND AFFECTED BY IT. BUT EVERYBODY ELSE HAS TO KEEP MOVING. AND IT’S AN OPPORTUNITY FOR SOMEBODY TO STEP UP AND GET THE JOB DONE. WHERE DO THE HAWKEYES GO FROM HERE? WELL, THEY’RE TURNING TO DEACON HILL. AND TONIGHT AT TEN, WE’LL BE TALKING ALL ABOUT THE NEW STARTING QUARTERBACK FOR THE HAWKEYES AND WHY THERE’S A LOT MORE TO THIS GUY THAN HIS SIX THREE BUIL
