Vice President and presumptive Democratic Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris is reportedly in the final stages of selecting her running mate after interviewing her top picks for vice president over the weekend.
The current front runners are Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly. Others include Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as well as Transportation Sec. Pete Buttigieg.
Harris' deadline for a running mate is effectively Tuesday before she launches her seven key battleground state tour.
Her choice could help rally major voting blocs she doesn't already have, including labor unions that have previously backed her predecessor, President Joe Biden.
"I believe a Harris and Beshear ticket would be unbeatable, " United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain said. "I believe both of them would just be both dynamic candidates, but we really like Tim Walz from Minnesota also. I think he's an awesome guy for labor."
Harris and her running mate of choice are expected to start their campaign tour in Pennsylvania on Tuesday. Harris and her vice presidential running mate will also travel to Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia and Arizona this week.
