With 11 days left until Election Day, the Harris and Trump campaigns will head to Texas on Friday to highlight top issues that have taken hold nationwide.
On Thursday, former President Donald Trump, who has largely based his campaign on illegal immigration, reiterated pledges to penalize undocumented immigrants with prison time and mass deportation.
"We're a dumping ground. We're like a garbage can for the world," Trump said at a rally in Arizona. "I'm hereby calling for the death penalty for any migrant that kills an American citizen or law enforcement officer."
At a star-studded rally with former President Barack Obama and singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen, Vice President Kamala Harris hit back at Trump, criticizing his role in overturning the federal right to an abortion.
"Donald Trump has become more confused, more unstable and more angry, which is just a further example of how out of touch the man is," she said Thursday.
In Texas on Friday, Trump will hold a press conference in Austin and sit for an interview on the "Joe Rogan Experience" podcast, appealing to its large male audience.
Harris will campaign in Houston alongside singer Beyoncé. The rally will feature women who have been affected by Texas' near-total abortion ban, warning voters of Trump's threat to reproductive rights in all states.
By contrast, Trump has centered his campaign largely on immigration, arguing that it's not just a border-state issue as communities across the country cope with an influx of migrants.
