MICHELLE: A BYSTANDER RAN INTO A BURNING HOUSE IN BREVARD COUNTY EARLIER THIS MORNING, WARNING THE FAMILY INSIDE. WESH 2’S SCOTT HEIDLER SPOKE WITH NEIGHBORS ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. >> A FIRE QUICKLY RIPPED THROUGH A MOBILE HOME EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING ON CHESTNUT DRIVE IN SHARPES. A FAMILY WITH CHILDREN WERE LIVING HERE. A COUNTY OFFICIAL TELLS US THAT A BYSTANDER RAN INTO THE BURNING HOUSE, ALERTING THOSE INSIDE. THE OFFICIAL CONFIRMED THAT THE MOTHER AND HER YOUNG CHILD WERE TRANSPORTED TO HOSPITAL FOR OBSERVATION. NEITHER WERE BURNED. ALL THOSE INSIDE THE HOUSE DURING THE FIRE MADE IT OUT ON THEIR OWN. RHONDA BURKES LIVES ACROSS THE STREET. >> THAT IS CRAZY. I’M GLAD THAT THEY ALL GOT OUT SAFE. BECAUSE, LOOK AT THAT PLACE. THAT’S SAD, THAT’S REAL SAD. >> ANOTHER NEIGHBOR TELLING US THAT WHILE THE FAMILY IS VERY GRATEFUL THAT EVERYONE GOT OUT SAFELY, THE HOUSE AND EVERYTHING INSIDE, A TOTAL LOSS. SOME LIVING ON THIS BLOCK OF CHESTNUT DRIVE SAY THEY DID NOT HEAR ANY SMOKE DETECTORS ALARMS BEFORE THE FLAMES AND SMOKE WERE VISIBLE. A good Samaritan ran into a burning home in Sharpes, Florida, on Wednesday morning to warn the family inside, a Brevard County official said.The fire quickly ripped through the mobile home where a family with children were living. The official confirmed that the mother and her young child were transported to hospital for observation. Neither were injured. All of the people inside the house during the fire made it out on their own.Rhonda Burkes lives across the street."That's so crazy. I'm glad that they all got out safe," the neighbor said. "Because look at that place. That's sad, that's real sad."Another neighbor said that while the family is very grateful that everyone got out safely, the house and everything inside is a total loss. Some living on the same block said they did not hear any smoke detector alarms before the flames and smoke were visible. One neighbor said they will be checking the batteries on the detectors in their house.
