Editorial: Citizens have a right to know what the real plan around tariffs is

Editorial: Citizens have a right to know what the real plan around tariffs is
This is *** vlog editorial. President Trump took office pledging reform, reform of bureaucracy, reform of government spending, and reform of what the president describes as unfair trading practices. Reform can be painful, especially in the early days, even more so when the messaging around it is inconsistent. President Trump chose to tackle what he believes is an imbalance in global trade by enacting wide reaching tariffs. And the news sent global markets into *** nosedive, strained international relations, and left business owners on Wall Street and Main Street wondering what's next. Unfortunately, they're still wondering. Earlier this week, the administration unexpectedly announced it was pausing most tariffs for 90 days and in the same breath raised tariffs on China. The announcement saw stocks surge, but wild swings sum up the problem. Look, I'm not here today to argue for or against tariffs. What concerns us is the messaging out of the White House. This week's reversal begs the question, what exactly is the strategy and how will we know when we've quote unquote won this battle? What's the plan 90 days from now? We have the right to know. After all, it's Americans' money we're fighting with in *** trade war. We're all drawn into the conflict, whether we like it or not. But like any other battle, we need to be assured we have *** winning strategy. We need to be assured the administration has *** plan, and we need to be assured the prize is worth the fight. After all, in this battle we all have the potential to be hurt, and for many of us, the cost may be too high. vlog welcomes responsible replies to this editorial.
