$35 co-pay insulin program now available in response to coronavirus crisis

$35 co-pay insulin program now available in response to coronavirus crisis
American pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly and Company announced Tuesday a new program to offer insulin at a capped price of $35 for anyone with or without insurance.The program, called the Lilly Insulin Value Program, allows "anyone with commercial insurance and those without insurance at all" to fill out their monthly insulin prescriptions for $35. The program is effective Tuesday. The company says it covers most of its insulins including Humalog.Those wishing to partake in the program can call the company's savings center at (833) 808-1234, Monday though Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.Related: What Causes Type 1 Diabetes? 3 Things You Need to Know, According to DoctorsIn the announcement, the company reiterated from a previous statement that they do not anticipate shortages of any forms of insulin during the coronavirus outbreak."It's critical that people with diabetes can reliably access insulin at a low, consistent out-of-pocket cost," CEOs Aaron Kowalski and Thom Scher said in the statement. "Enabling a $35 per month insulin co-pay regardless of employment status will help many Americans in this difficult time."
