For Kimberly Dye, her clients at Baths, Barks and Bubbles Pet Spa mean so much. "Without parents and puppies I don't know where I'd be," Dye said. "So they always come first."The business owner recalls living in her car behind a Walmart 26 years ago and working two jobs. "You wouldn't believe how many people look down at you if you don't have anywhere to go," she said. The owner of an animal clinic where Dye was employed believed in her and taught her about dog grooming, which changed her life. "And now, I've been doing it ever since then as much as possible," Dye said. Dye had to close three of her pet spa locations due to COVID-19, but her business in Birmingham, Alabama is following strict regulations. Although her costs have gone up and staff is limited, Dye says her experiences have taught her to have faith to get through hard times. "Don't let anybody tell you you can't do anything or you're less of a somebody," she said.
