In two years, major parts of Disney World and Disneyland are about to look a whole lot different. That's because the parks are introducing Star Wars lands, letting fans of the movies immerse themselves in a galaxy far, far away. Gizmodo reports that Disney gave more details about the parks at the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando over the weekend. Park executives said the area will be in the Star Wars universe, but it's a brand-new planet that hasn't been featured in the movies before. In a blog post, Disney revealed it's somewhere on the Outer Rim, in a once-popular trading spot that has slowed down since hyperdrive was invented, and is now a place for "smugglers, rogue traders, and adventurers," "unusual characters," and people who want to escape the bad guys of the First Order. The Huffington Post notes the park will have distinct smells and tastes, and will sell "blue milk" from the movies. But by far, the most striking addition about the parks is they track the decisions you make, and then tailor your "reputation" based on your actions. The park will track if you choose the First Order or the Resistance in one ride, for example, and how well you fly the Millennium Falcon in another. Then, if you go into a restaurant or bar, a character may ask you to perform a task depending on those decisions, or a bounty hunter could get on your trail. The panel didn't elaborate, but the tracking would likely take place through Magic Band wristbands that also serve as your park ticket.The parks are scheduled to open at Disneyland California and Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios in 2019.
