ACCORDING TO OFFICERS, DAVID MOLINA RAMIREZ WAS HIT AND KILLED IN AN ALLEY ALONG EAST NINTH STREET ON SATURDAY. THEY BELIEVE HE WAS HIT HOURS BEFORE HE WAS FOUND, WHICH WAS AROUND 1030 THAT NIGHT. Des Moines police have now identified the pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run over the weekend. Police say David Molina Ramirez, 62, of Des Moines, was killed when he was hit by a vehicle Saturday near the 1100 block of E. 9th Street. He was found in an alley after police were called to investigate a report of a person struck by a vehicle.Ramirez was walking in the alley when he was struck, police say. The driver, who police are still searching for, fled the scene.Findings from the investigation indicate Ramirez may have been dead for several hours before he was found.Police are asking for help identifying the vehicle and the driver.
