LITTLE BIT. AND THANK YOU. NEW AT NOON A DES MOINES MAN IS IN JAIL FACING FELONY CHARGES AFTER POLICE SAY HE SHOT A GUN IN A WOODED AREA NEAR THE DES MOINES RIVER. OFFICERS RESPONDED TO THE REPORTS OF GUNFIRE YESTERDAY NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF VERMONT STREET AND WASHINGTON AVENUE. THEY SAY THEY FOUND 38 YEAR OLD PAUL MICHAEL FUREY ARGUING WITH A FEMALE. HE THEN TOOK OFF ON A BIKE. POLICE LATER CAUGHT UP TO HIM AND ARRESTED HIM NEAR THE 28TH, NEAR THE SECOND AVENUE BRIDGE. POLICE SAY THEY FOUND EVIDENCE OF GUNFIRE AT A CAMPSITE IN THE WOODED AREA. A Des Moines man is in jail facing felony charges after police say he shot a gun in a wooded area near the Des Moines River.Officers responded to the report of gunfire around 5 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Vermont Street and Washington Avenue. They say they found 38-year-old Paul Michael Furey arguing with a female.Furey left the scene on a bicycle, according to a news release from DMPD.
